Trinity River Vision

CONTRACTING OPPORTUNITIES

The Trinity River Vision -- Central City project will provide numerous contracting opportunities both in the professional service and construction service sectors. The full extent and nature of these opportunities in terms of separate contracts can not be fully determined at this time, but will evolve as the project moves forward. An initial listing of potential Central City contracting opportunities has been developed to help inform various agencies and business of the professional and construction contract potential.

These potential opportunities are shown on the attached table. It is intended to illustrate the diversity of contracting agencies, types of contracts, and possible approaches. A summary of the information provide is as follows.

Project Elements

The table is organized vertically by major project element and components as applicable. Major project elements include:

  • Land preparation (property acquisition, relocation, HTRW, demolition)
  • Infrastructure (bridges, roadways, utility relocation)
  • Bypass channel, levees, retaining walls
  • Pedestrian bridges
  • Structures (flood isolation gates, storm water pump station, dam)
  • Water feature (interior water feature, Marine Creek)
  • Valley storage/ ecosystem mitigation

Contracting Agency

Contracting agencies include the Trinity River Vision Authority (TRVA), U.S. Army Corp of Engineers (USACE), City of Fort Worth (City), Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD), and Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). The contracting agency or agencies anticipated to have a role within a project element are identified with an "X".

Professional Service and A/E Opportunities

A/E opportunities are generally defined as professional services performed by consulting or specialty firms and may include the following:

  • Survey (for property, design, construction)
  • Geotechnical/drilling (for structural, environmental, geotechnical)
  • Laboratory/ other services (for soil, groundwater, asbestos, etc.)
  • Preliminary design (for civil, structural, hydraulic, drainage, utility, etc.)
  • Design (for civil, structural, hydraulic, drainage, utility, etc.)
  • Construction management (for roadways, bridges, utilities, excavation, etc.)

A preliminary estimate of the potential number of prime contract opportunities is provided. Potential A/E subcontract opportunities are not shown; however, it is anticipated that multiple opportunities will exist.

Construction Opportunities

Construction opportunities will consist of both prime and sub contracts. The type of construction opportunities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Excavation
  • Demolition / recycling
  • Concrete
  • Mechanical
  • Electrical
  • Landscaping
  • Utility
  • HTRW

For each of the project tasks the type of construction opportunities which are anticipated to be available or indicated with an "X". The number of contracts by element will vary based on project schedule, contracting goals and other project requirements and cannot be estimated at this time.
